JMeter Overview Description

In this article we will go through the multiple section of JMeter and describe the tool information. we will discuss about every component of JMeter tool in this Article so that you can hands on while working on script on JMeter about these components.
What is Test Plan in JMeter?

A Test Plan is like a Container all the test will run. Test Plan consist of  all actions and component of your script that you need to execute while performing a load Testing.

A Test Plan consist of component like Thread Group, logic controllers, sample generating controllers, listeners, timers, assertions, and configuration elements.

In JMeter at a time you can work on single Project. if you want to another project than you need to open a fresh copy of JMeter tool to work.

Further i am going to give a overview regarding some element which come under the Test Plan. In later discussion i will explain these module in detail.

Threads in JMeter: Threads basically use to put a load in JMeter Script
Config Element is basically needed for configuration what is actually  need in your test script.
Timer is basically used in you want to wait some time in between one request and another request. There are multiple timer option inside this.
Pre Processors is like do some processing before the Test script run
Post processors is like retrieve the put after test script run so it is basically processing part after test script run.
Assertions is basically used for the validation so once you get the output you want to put some validation to get the right output.
Listener is basically is used for the Test result, formatting of Test result.
Test Fragment is some specific segment.
Non Test Elements are the test script which is not the part of Test.

Smoke Testing

In Smoke Testing, Testing team check the key feature or key bugs of the software. Smoke testing ensure that critical functionality of the software is working fine.If key features are not working then it is no needed to test the overall functionality because it is just waste of time. In Smoke Testing, test team check the basic feature of the software and if basic feature is not working it means software is broken very badly and further testing is unnecessary. If Smoke Testing failed then it is declared that build is unstable and revert back to developer team until smoke test is pass.

Difference between Error, Bug, Defect and Failure

Error: Any mistake in the coding called error. The mistake may be Syntax error, Logical errors or other GUI errors lead errors in any software. These are from developer side. Defect: The error which made by developer and during testing, Tester is able to find that errors,  means if actual result deviated from expected result then that error called defects. This is caught by testers. Bug: The defect which is developed by tester team, if expected by the developer team then that defect called an bug. Failure: If the Software does not meet the client requirement then this is called failure of the software.
